Morning showers give way to widespread afternoon storms

Widespread storms are forecast to affect 70% of the area today. After a mainly dry early morning, scattered rain & storms will pass through the Tampa Bay area for the late morning and early afternoon, bringing a low-end flood risk for most of the area. Mostly cloudy skies will persist throughout the day Thursday.
