Movable assets law to spur jobs, boost Dira 2050

Members of Parliament in Dodoma, Tanzania, have begun debating the Movable Asset Bill, 2026. The proposed legislation aims to facilitate private-sector expansion by allowing the use of movable assets as collateral, a move officials expect to stimulate job creation across the country.

Lawmakers have expressed optimism regarding the bill's potential to support the National Development Vision 2050 (Dira 2050). The legislation is currently awaiting presidential assent following the parliamentary proceedings.
