The Public Prosecutor's Office has opted to negotiate in almost all corruption cases

Over the past five years, the Public Ministry in the Dominican Republic has chosen to negotiate and sign agreements with defendants in nearly all administrative corruption cases submitted to the courts.

While this legal practice has faced questioning from certain sectors of society, it has been utilized extensively by the main actors within the justice system during the specified timeframe.
