The Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) has deployed the V-BAT uncrewed surveillance aircraft. The unmanned system is capable of autonomously patrolling predetermined routes.
During operations, the aircraft collects surveillance footage and transmits the data back to a command vessel in real time.
