Pilot Jesús López 'Pijo' dies in an accident during the Taboadela Climb, in Ourense.

Spanish racing driver Jesús López, commonly known as 'Pijo', died on Sunday following a fatal crash during the seventh edition of the Subida a Taboadela in Ourense, Galicia. The event, which serves as a scoring round for the Xunta de Galicia Mountain Championship, was suspended in the wake of the tragedy.

According to reports, the fatal incident occurred when López's vehicle collided with a parked car and the wall of a residential property before catching fire. Two spectators watching the race sustained serious injuries as a result of the impact and subsequent fire.
