Neonatal deaths account for 80% of infant deaths

According to the Ministry of Public Health's epidemiological bulletin for week 32, neonatal deaths accounted for 80 percent of all infant fatalities in the country up to August 15.

During this reporting period, authorities documented a total of 1,131 infant deaths nationwide. Out of this total, 911 cases specifically involved newborns, highlighting the disproportionate concentration of mortality within the neonatal period.
