Neonatal deaths account for 80% of infant deaths

According to the Ministry of Public Health in the Dominican Republic, neonatal deaths account for 80 percent of all infant fatalities in the country.

Data from the epidemiological bulletin for week 32 indicates that a total of 1,131 infant deaths were recorded up to August 15. Of that total, 911 cases involved newborns.
