Mumbai University's Management Council decided to transfer the TYBCom paper leak investigation to the state CID. This parallel inquiry follows an announcement made by the higher and technical education minister. Three TYBCom question papers had allegedly leaked during the university's final examinations in April.

The leak reportedly originated from the university's Centre for Distance and Open Education. The council also deferred decisions on law college fines pending court directions.
