Newly elected NPP Third Vice Chairperson Nana Akomea says he paid little attention to opinion polls ahead of the party’s national executive elections. He said direct engagement with delegates gave candidates a better opportunity to assess their chances. “So I didn’t pay much heed to the polls because you are meeting the electorate directly.” Nana Akomea said the NPP election was different from a national election, in which candidates cannot personally engage millions of voters.

His message was different.” According to Akomea, several leading candidates had largely similar campaign messages centred on experience and years of service to the party. “Basically, that was our message.” He said Bamba instead presented himself as someone who would focus o… Newly elected NPP Third Vice Chairperson Nana Akomea has described Kojo Bamba’s campaign message as “clever” after the latter defied expectations in the party’s national executive election.
