AMP-Bolaños says the Government had "neither prior nor accurate information" about the entry of thousands of migrants into Ceuta

The Spanish government stated through Minister of the Presidency Félix Bolaños that it lacked prior or precise intelligence regarding the massive influx of thousands of migrants into Ceuta. Meanwhile, PSOE President Cristina Narbona defended the consistency of statements made by Defense Minister Margarita Robles and Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska concerning prior intelligence reports from the National Intelligence Center (CNI) about the border crossing.

In response to the situation, political reactions emerged from regional leaders and opposition parties. Fernando López Miras, president of the Region of Murcia, urged the central government to deploy military resources to conduct surveillance and deterrence operations against migrant smuggling networks. Additionally, the People's Party (PP) submitted a non-binding proposition in Congress calling for a legal framework that allows military personnel stationed in Ceuta to defend themselves following an incident involving a patrol.
