NASA administrator suggests putting data centers in space

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman suggested housing data centers in Earth orbit during a Wednesday statement, proposing the use of solar energy as a power source. The suggestion comes amid mounting controversy and political backlash surrounding the growing presence of data facilities in the United States.

In response to the proposal, both Democratic and Republican politicians are hastily trying to distance themselves from domestic data facilities. Isaacman argued that placing the infrastructure in space would take advantage of the sun's natural energy to power the centers.
