NewzDay Seven of the 2026 Commonwealth Games proved to be a historic one for Team PNG, headlined by a national record performance on the track alongside multiple season-best achievements and the official conclusion of PNGβs swimming campaign. Competing at Scotstoun Stadium, distance runner Jiuteis Robinson delivered the performance of the day in the Men's One Mile event. Robinson clocked a remarkable 4:19.14 to finish 12th in his heat, comfortably erasing the previous national record of 4:27.29 set by Sapolai Yao in Brisbane, Australia, in 2005.
