Navantia completes the propulsion system tests of the S-83 submarine at the shipyard

Navantia has successfully completed testing of the air-independent propulsion (AIP) system for the S-83 'Cosme García' submarine. The trials took place at the company's shipyard in Cartagena, Murcia, and focused on the propulsion technology integrated into the vessel's hull section.

The S-83 'Cosme García' is the third unit in the S-80 series of submarines currently under development by the Spanish state-owned firm. The successful completion of these propulsion tests marks a significant technical milestone in the construction and integration process of the submarine series.
