Nearly 1,500 missing in Nepal and China after devastating Himalaya flood

Catastrophic flooding in the Himalayan region spanning Nepal and Tibet has left nearly 1,500 people missing, with at least 160 confirmed dead. The disaster was triggered by a massive collapse of mud and rock into a river, which sent destructive floodwaters surging through local towns and valleys. Authorities are currently conducting search and rescue operations, utilizing helicopters to reach affected areas.

Among those missing are at least 800 foreign nationals. As rescue efforts continue, officials have expressed concerns that the death toll will likely rise significantly given the high number of individuals still unaccounted for.
