Nearly 200,000 forced deportees received by Haiti, UN says

Haiti has received nearly 200,000 forced deportees amidst a backdrop of surging gang violence. The influx of returnees compounds an already critical humanitarian situation within the country.

In response to the escalating crisis, particularly following a recent deadly gang attack, an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council was convened to discuss the deteriorating conditions in Haiti.
