Negotiations over Arab joint list hit snag as Ahmad Tibi rejects proposed slate

Negotiations to revive the Arab Joint List for the upcoming Knesset elections have hit a major snag and effectively collapsed after Ta'al leader Ahmad Tibi rejected a proposed parliamentary slate. The disputed proposal would grant Tibi's party the smallest representation in the legislature among the three participating factions.

Party leaders had initially agreed in January to reunite the Joint List. However, earlier statements from figures like Mansour Abbas indicated that the technical alliance might split following the election to allow individual factions freedom to join future governing coalitions. Meanwhile, Hadash chairman Jabareen defended the rejected proposal, describing it as an accurate reflection of the public's will.
