Nepal has updated its official casualty figures following a violent and devastating flash flood that struck northern and central regions of the country last Wednesday. According to the National Authority for Disaster Reduction and Management, the disaster has left at least 903 people dead and 4,247 missing.

In addition to the mounting death toll, authorities have issued urgent warnings regarding the safety of infrastructure personnel. More than 900 workers at ongoing hydroelectric plant construction sites remain trapped in the affected areas as rescue and recovery operations continue.
