Nepal’s Kuwait domestic worker ban fails to stop migration, leaves thousands outside protection

Nepal's ongoing ban on domestic workers traveling to Kuwait has failed to halt migration, resulting in nearly 69,000 Nepalis—predominantly women—working in the Gulf kingdom.

Many of these migrant workers operate without access to official legal protections from the Nepali government, leaving them in vulnerable circumstances abroad while continuing to bypass the state-imposed restrictions.
