New $821m wharf project seeks to secure South Island supply chain

Port managers and civic leaders are investing $821 million to construct a new deepwater wharf and container terminal in Christchurch's Te Awaparahi Bay.

The infrastructure project is designed to secure and strengthen the South Island supply chain through the development of expanded maritime and cargo handling facilities.
