New California law bans officers from using gloves that deliver electric shocks

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law on Tuesday banning local, state, and federal law enforcement officers from using gloves capable of delivering painful electric shocks to individuals. The legislation was enacted in Sacramento.

The prohibition on shock gloves is scheduled to take effect next year and will remain in place until 2030.
