New Edo assembly speaker alleges corruption as reason for leadership change

Idiaye was sworn in as the new speaker of the Edo State eighth assembly during an event in Benin on Monday. Following his inauguration, he gave an interview in which he attributed the leadership change to what he described as challenges involving corruption and poor leadership.

The shakeup resulted in the removal of the former speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, and brought Idiaye into the position of leadership for the assembly.
