Lucio V. Mansilla's critical biographical essay on his uncle, Juan Manuel de Rosas, is being republished. Mansilla, a military man, writer, journalist, and son of Rosas's sister Agustina Rozas, wrote the portrait of the historical figure without pity or reverence.

The newly reissued work highlights Mansilla's harsh assessment of the dictator, captured in the prominent quote: "There are no tyrants without peoples who think like the tyrant himself, feeling like him."
