North Korea has built new uranium facility to expand nuclear arsenal, UN agency says

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that North Korea has constructed a new uranium enrichment facility at its main Yongbyon nuclear complex and has begun operating an expanded annex at its Kangson enrichment site. According to the UN nuclear watchdog, the new Yongbyon facility is capable of housing up to 28 centrifuge cascades, pointing to an active effort to increase the nation's capacity for producing weapons-grade uranium.

In response to these developments, the IAEA has voiced serious concerns regarding the expansion of North Korea's nuclear infrastructure. The agency's findings highlight Pyongyang's continued pursuit of nuclear weapon capabilities through the enhancement of its known enrichment sites.
