North Korea’s Kim hails ‘new-type weapon’ days after missile launch

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently oversaw the test of a new-type weapon system, according to state media reports on Tuesday. The announcement follows by two days an incident in which South Korea and Japan reported that Pyongyang had launched two short-range ballistic missiles into waters off the Korean Peninsula.

During the event, Kim touted the successful test as clear evidence of his country's advancing military technology. He further warned that these ongoing military developments would inflict what he described as an incurable headache and a very cruel and unavoidable blow upon the nation's adversaries.
