North Korea says its nuclear status is ‘irreversible’ after UN atomic agency rebuke

North Korea has declared its nuclear status to be irreversible following a rebuke from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The declaration came in a statement issued through state media by Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The statement was issued in response to a resolution adopted by the UN atomic agency that criticized Pyongyang's ongoing nuclear weapons program. In her response, Kim accused the IAEA of operating with "biased viewpoints and double standards."

Furthermore, Kim asserted that the agency's approach is the fundamental factor causing the collapse of the international nuclear non-proliferation system.
