Nine active fires, five of them at the highest level, are plaguing Castile and León

The call for this national strategy follows a period of heightened wildfire activity, including significant incidents in Spain and abroad. As medical professionals advocate for improved preparedness, current events highlight the ongoing challenges posed by these environmental threats, ranging from the displacement of hundreds of residents in León to the severe operational difficulties and fatalities reported in international firefighting efforts, such as those in Crete.
