New Penal Code: the 43 modifications that transform justice in the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic's new Penal Code, designated as Law 74-25, officially enters into force on Monday, August 3, in accordance with Article 393. The legislation introduces 43 modifications intended to transform the national justice system. A concurrent law, as outlined in Article 30, takes effect simultaneously to support these changes.

While the majority of the new legal framework becomes active immediately, the implementation of criminal liability for corporations has been delayed. This specific provision will be deferred for a period of three months before becoming applicable.
