New Penal Code: the 43 modifications that transform justice in the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic's new Penal Code, designated as Law 74-25, officially enters into force on Monday, August 3, in accordance with the provisions of its 393rd article. The legislation introduces 43 modifications intended to transform the national justice system. A concurrent law modifying the code also takes effect on the same date, as stipulated by its 30th article.

While the majority of the new legal framework becomes active immediately, the implementation of corporate criminal liability has been deferred for a period of three months. This transition marks a significant update to the country's penal regulations.
