NewzKINGSTON, Jamaica — A woman is suspected to have committed suicide using her father’s licensed firearm at their home in Olympic Court, Kingston 11, on Tuesday morning. She has been identified as 34-year-old Orlease Weir, who police said is a graphic designer. Reports reaching Observer Online indicate that around 6:30 am, her father woke up and went to the bathroom.
While there, she reportedly gained access to his firearm. It is further reported that the father heard a muffled explosion, made checks in his daughter’s room and found her lying on the ground, clutching his firearm, with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to her head. The police were summoned and upon arrival, they observed the now-deceased lying on the room floor with the firearm in her right hand.
