ON THIS DAY IN OUR HISTORY: Somare praises beef producers

Prime Minister Mr. Somare congratulated the Bogia people of Madang for their initiative in expanding Papua New Guinea's beef production. The announcement was reported on Wednesday, August 17, 1983.

According to the reports, approximately 1,400 residents across eight villages in the Bogia area established a major cash-producing enterprise that is entirely locally owned.
