Honduras: Reservoirs in the capital reach critical levels due to dwindling water reserves

The reservoirs supplying potable water to the Honduran capital have reached a critical state due to a significant reduction in water reserves, according to the Municipal Water and Sanitation Unit (UMAPS). This decline in water levels has placed the city in a situation of high hydrological risk.

Simultaneously, meteorological conditions are expected to shift as a new tropical wave enters Honduras this Friday. The arrival of this system is forecasted to bring a considerable increase in rainfall across much of the national territory, potentially impacting the current water supply situation.
