Tropical wave forms in the Atlantic and poses no threat to the Dominican Republic

The United States National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported on Monday that a tropical wave originating off the west coast of Africa is beginning to organize as it moves across the Atlantic. The agency has increased the probability of cyclonic formation to 60% over the next seven days.

Despite the ongoing development of this system, current meteorological assessments indicate that the tropical wave does not pose an immediate threat to the Dominican Republic. Monitoring of the disturbance continues as it tracks westward across the ocean.
