Only 2 other countries hold public executions as U.S. plans first in 90 years

The U.S. Department of Defense has announced plans to conduct the first public execution in the country in 90 years. The execution of Nidal Hasan, who was convicted for the 2009 Fort Hood shooting that resulted in 13 deaths, is scheduled to be broadcast via livestream.
