A teenage former student opened fire at an Oregon elementary and junior school, killing four people. During the attack, a teacher intervened by throwing her phone at the gunman, tackling him, and engaging in a physical fight that police stated likely saved lives.
The suspect was subsequently shot by a parent of students who had followed the gunman into the building. Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz detailed the sequence of events during a police briefing on Friday.
