According to detectives, Francel Swain was last seen around 6 p.m. Friday, in the 1900 block of Southwest 57th Avenue in West Park. Authorities said Swain is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.
He has grey hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing an olive-green polo shirt, a green ball cap, brown cargo pants and brown shoes.According to this family, Swain suffers from dementia.Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact BSO Detective Chris Blankenship at 954-321-4268 or the BSO non-emergency number at 954-764-4357. Firefighters responded early Saturday to a blaze at an apartment complex in Lauderhill, where first responders said everyone was safely accounted for.The fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. at an apartment complex on Northwest 19th Street, just off State Road 7, in the Lauderhill East 55 and older community.Authorities said crews with the Lauderhill Fire Rescue and the Plantation Fire Department responded with dozens of firefighters to battle the blaze.About an hour and a half after the initial call, some fire trucks began leaving the scene, though a significant emergency response remained as crews worked to extinguish hot spots.Fire rescue officials said they could not provide many details about the fire but confirmed that everyone was OK.The fire appeared to be contained to one apartment unit, though the unit spans two levels.
Smoke damage was visible throughout the apartment, and at least one first-floor window appeared to have been shattered.Police remained at the scene as firefighters continued working to put out remaining hot spots.
