The Historic Pact rejected the Abelardo de la Espriella government's approach to the IMF: "It left us with a debt during the pandemic."

The Colombian political coalition Pacto Histórico has publicly rejected the government of President Abelardo de la Espriella initiating talks with the International Monetary Fund (FMI). The administration stated that the approach to the FMI is necessary to address the deterioration of public finances and growing financing needs, but the coalition criticized the move by recalling that a previous debt was left behind during the pandemic.

At the same time, Pacto Histórico defended the pension reform passed during the administration of former President Gustavo Petro. The coalition denounced what it described as an attempt at media criminalization regarding the reform, characterizing the legislative process as legal, political, democratic, and public.
