Pakistan’s England nightmare deepens: 11 WTC points docked, 50% fine — here’s why

Pakistan’s national cricket team has been penalized by the International Cricket Council following the conclusion of their Test series against England. The team was docked 11 World Test Championship (WTC) points and fined 50 percent of their match fees due to a slow over-rate recorded during the Edgbaston Test. Captain Babar Azam has formally accepted the sanctions.

These penalties further complicate Pakistan's standing in the current WTC cycle, where they were already positioned at the bottom of the table. Following the points deduction and a 3-0 series defeat in Birmingham, the team’s total has been reduced to 4.63 points.
