PAN goes against Sheinbaum's 'Morning Press Conference': will propose that the conference have "clear rules" and verified information

Jorge Romero Herrera, the national leader of the National Action Party (PAN), has announced that his party will introduce a legislative initiative to establish formal regulations for President Claudia Sheinbaum’s daily morning press conferences, known as 'La Mañanera.' The proposal aims to mandate that the conferences adhere to 'clear rules' and provide information that has been verified for accuracy.

In conjunction with this proposal, Romero Herrera has criticized the federal government’s broader communication strategy, alleging that recent administrative actions, such as the dissolution of the National Institute for Transparency (INAI), constitute a form of censorship. The PAN leadership argues that these government policies negatively impact freedom of expression and the rights of media audiences in Mexico.
