Thirteen of the 60 hostages kidnapped by a gang in Kenscoff, Haiti, have been released.

Thirteen hostages, consisting of six children and seven women, were released in Haiti after being held in captivity for nearly a week. The victims were among a larger group of more than 50 to 60 people originally abducted by a local gang during a deadly assault on a community in Kenscoff, located on the outskirts of the capital, Puerto Príncipe.

The liberation of the hostages was reported by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The initial mass kidnapping occurred following a violent attack by the gang, underscoring the ongoing security crisis and the vulnerability of civilians, particularly women and children, in regions surrounding the capital.
