Paris investigates claim of women being removed during Hindu delegation visit at Eiffel Tower

Paris is investigating claims that women working at the Eiffel Tower were removed from their workstations so that men from a visiting Hindu delegation could take their places. The incident, which led to a staff strike, prompted the closure of the landmark on Monday.

According to a union representative, the female employees were asked to leave as the delegation passed through. SETE, the company operating the Eiffel Tower, stated that these instructions should not have been accepted because they contradicted the company's values and the principles of gender equality.
