NewzTrainer Peter-John Parsard has crossed a defining threshold in his career, saddling his 100th winner on Saturday, August 8, 2026, when McMullen, partnered by Shane Richardson, won the day’s ninth race at Caymanas Park. For Parsard, who officially began conditioning thoroughbreds in May 2023, the achievement is both a personal milestone and a statement of intent. “Reaching the landmark of 100 wins is something special as it was something I dreamed about, and now it has become a reality, I feel a sense of deep achievement, knowing fully well that there is still a lot of work to do,” Parsard reflected.
Parsard’s first taste of victory came on August 20, 2023, when Geolithic, ridden by Reyan Lewis, won a three-year-old, non-two for locally bred horses and a maiden for three-year-old foreigners. That breakthrough set the stage for a rapid rise. Since then, Parsard has built a portfolio of 99 further wins, highlighted by major stakes victories.
His colt We Jammin has been the flag bearer, delivering triumphs in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes (2025), the Prince Consort Stakes (2026), and most memorably, Parsard’s first Classic, the Jamaica St Leger, on July 5, 2026. Parsard was keen to stress that his success is shared. “I have to give a lot of credit to my owners, those who were with me from the start and those who joined along the way.
Without them, my achievement of reaching 100 wins would not have been possible. “When my career started in 2023, many individuals thought that I was primarily training for just one set of owners, it took time for many to realise that I am a commercial trainer, always seeking new owners, with my brand of dedication, hard work and direct communication with individual owners. “Since 2023, I have been able to add several new owners, and that is certainly one of the reasons why I have been able to saddle 100 winners,” Parsard stated.
