Partidos de oposición solicitan al INE que la verificación de candidatos no se convierta en una “cacería”

Representatives from opposition political parties formally requested that the National Electoral Institute (INE) ensure its newly formed Commission for the Verification of Candidate Integrity operates without bias. The request, submitted yesterday, calls for the electoral body to prevent the new commission from functioning as a tool for political persecution against candidates.

The opposition's appeal centers on concerns that the verification process could be weaponized to unfairly target political rivals. By issuing this exhorto, the parties seek to establish clear boundaries for the commission's authority, aiming to ensure that candidate vetting remains an objective administrative procedure rather than a mechanism for political retaliation.
