Patricia Ripley faces trial in Miami for the murder of her son

Patricia Ripley, a woman of Dominican origin, is facing trial in Miami-Dade County for the alleged murder by drowning of her nine-year-old autistic son.

A judge recently denied a request by the defense to exclude Ripley's confession from the proceedings. As a result, the confession will be permitted to be presented to the jury during the trial.
