Ricardo Monreal rejects the PAN's proposal to punish narco-politicians with life imprisonment

On Thursday, federal deputy Ricardo Monreal Ávila of the Morena party formally rejected a legislative proposal introduced by the National Action Party (PAN). The PAN initiative sought to impose sentences of up to 140 years in prison for public officials found to have ties to organized crime or who are identified as narcopoliticians.
