Pentagon said to ask US arms firms to speed up output as Iran war exhausts supply

The United States Department of Defense has requested that domestic arms manufacturers accelerate production timelines to replenish stockpiles depleted by ongoing regional conflicts involving Iran. Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg informed contractors that the industry’s current multi-year development cycles are insufficient to meet urgent operational requirements.

Despite the Pentagon's push for increased output, efforts to scale production face significant logistical and political hurdles. Specifically, the necessary federal funding required to expand manufacturing capacity remains stalled in Congress, complicating the military's ability to maintain its supply chain stability during the current period of heightened geopolitical tension.
