Perth looks back to the day when Mundaring Weir last overflowed

Thirty years ago, Perth's Mundaring Weir overflowed following a period of good winter rains. Large numbers of visitors flocked to the site to witness the spectacle.

At the time of the event, the crowds who gathered to observe the overflowing weir were unaware that it would be the last time the reservoir would reach and exceed its capacity in the decades that followed.
