Peru destroys assets from illegal mining in the Amazon worth more than $5 million

Peruvian authorities have destroyed equipment used for illegal mining operations in the Madre de Dios region of the Amazon. The operation, reported by the Public Ministry on Monday, resulted in the destruction of assets valued at approximately 18.5 million soles, equivalent to 5.36 million dollars.
