Philippine couple married in hip-deep floodwaters

On Tuesday in the Philippines, a couple tied the knot inside a Catholic church that was swamped in hip-deep floodwaters. The bride, Leian Lieza Galang, wore an off-shoulder white gown and clutched a bouquet of white blooms as she gingerly waded through the murky brown water.

The wedding took place against the backdrop of persistent heavy rains that have pummeled large parts of the country for an entire month, causing severe flooding in local areas and impacting community infrastructure such as places of worship.
