A new study conducted by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) has found that playing a musical instrument helps medical students perform surgical tasks with greater speed and skill.

According to the research findings, students with prior musical experience were able to complete specified surgical tasks 10 per cent faster on average compared to those without such experience, while also demonstrating higher skill levels during the procedures.
