West Kalimantan Regional Police handle 56 forest and land fire reports, five people named as suspects

Regional police authorities in Kalimantan have reported ongoing investigations into forest and land fires (karhutla) within their respective jurisdictions. The West Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kalbar) handled 56 reports related to forest and land fires up to August 30, resulting in five individuals being named as suspects.

Simultaneously, the East Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kaltim) addressed 34 cases of forest and land fires over the same period, with nine individuals designated as suspects. These law enforcement actions reflect active regional crackdowns on illegal burning and land clearance activities.
